Edward, Jr. loved the outdoors and grew up hunting and fishing with his brothers and cousins on Possum Creek. He had two beloved children and actively volunteered and participated in their extra-curricular activities throughout their childhood. Coaching his son’s T-Ball and Pop- Warner teams as well as driving in parades and building floats for his daughter’s pageants, was an honored highlight of his life.
Edward, Jr. proudly earned his A.S.E. Master Service Technician Certificate and there was absolutely nothing he could not diagnose or repair. He started getting noticed around the country diagnosing the most problematic vehicles from over the phone. He was then given the title of Lead Technician-Ford Motor Company. Jr. also enjoyed farming, tending to his livestock, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to grill outdoors while reminiscing of old times and telling “stories” with his children, family, and friends. Jr. spoke fondly of memories of butchering at home with his daddy and family during his youth.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Edward Skrhak, and his father, Edward G. Skrhak, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Gay Skrhak; his daughter, Christina Nicole Skrhak; his mother, Bertha Skrhak; his brothers, Michael A. Skrhak and wife Rebecca, and Timothy J. Skrhak; his nephew, Michael Edward Skrhak; his niece, Mikayla Ann Skrhak; along with numerous cousins, family, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. The pastor will lead prayer service at 7 p.m. then followed by the rosary. — Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Texas. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
