Hazel L. Reeves Preusse

Hazel Lucille Preusse, beloved mother and grandmother was called to heaven by her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the age of 82 yrs.

Hazel was born on October 4, 1928, in Weir, Texas. She was the third of four children born to Lillian and Elmer Reeves. When she was six months old, her family moved to Taylor, where she resided until 2008, at which time she became a resident at Trinity Care Center in Round Rock. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Taylor and was educated in the Taylor Public Schools. After graduation from Taylor High School, Hazel took a job as a legal secretary for Judge Kirby Vance. When Judge Vance sold his practice to Marvin Lenz, attorney at law, Hazel stayed on as his legal secretary until her retirement in late 1989.

Hazel, was affectionately known as Nana, and was a proud grandmother to Travis, Trent and Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Preusse, her parents, and a sister Grace DeWolfe. She is survived by a son, Ricky Preusse of Taylor; a daughter, Tammy Pokorny and husband Tim of Austin; three grandchildren, Travis, Trent and Taylor Pokorny all of Austin. She is also survived by a brother, William Fay Reeves and wife, Billey of San Antonio; a sister, Lanell Poldrack and husband, Melvin of Coupland; sisters-in-law Laverne Pullin of Marble Falls, Ann Preusse of Round Rock and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff at Trinity Care Center in Round Rock for the care given to their loved one.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Condra Funeral Home, 503 Talbot, Taylor, TX.

Services will be on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Condra Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Taylor, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Monroe Hester, Travis Pokorny, Trent Pokorny, Hunter Poldrack, Terry Poldrack, Mervin Walker and Honorary Pallbearer, Denney Poldrack.
