Irene Christine Wentrcek

Irene Christine Kunz Wentrcek was born on April 28, 1919 at 5:20am in the Bartlett area to Henry Leo Kunz and Mary Emma Kunz. She married Raymond Wentrcek at St. John Lutheran Church on November 4, 1937.Irene was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was proud to be a "Holy Roller" that prepared the boards that hold the cheese braids for the church Advent fair. She was a member of the SPJST Lodge 80 at Holland and a member of the Bartlett Senior Citizens.She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Hugo Kunz, a sister Beatrice Kunz White, and infant sister Anna Kunz, a step-father Walter Braun, a step-brother Edwin Braun, a grandson Phil Atchison and her loving husband.Survivors include one son, Garland Wentrcek and wife Janice of Belton, Janice Wentrcek Atchison and husband Tommy of Bartlett, her step-brother Billy Braun and wife Lola of Waco. Grandchildren Steven Wentrcek of Bartlett, Ricky Atchison and wife Judy of Killeen, Jerry Atchison and wife Susan of Killeen, Sherry Kell and husband David of Holland. Great-grandchildren Jeff Atchison and wife Kristi, Shelley Pardon and husband Craig, Amanda Atchison, and Todd Atchison. Great-Great-Grandchildren Zachary, Lauren, and Allison Janke, Logan and Kaci Atchison, and Emily and Kenzie Pardon.Irene passed away at Will-O-Bell Nursing Home in Bartlett on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 9 days. She will be truly missed by her family, the community and the members of St. John Lutheran Church.Visitation will be held Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Goodnight Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services will be Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 2:00pm at the St. John Lutheran Church, Bartlett, with Reverend Michael Swink officiating.
