

J T “Dude” Wright, 90 of Taylor passed away on, Wednesday, August 17, 2011.
He was born June 29, 1921 in Granger, Texas to Jasper Louis “Jap” Wright and Hattie Belle Teer Wright. He attended Granger schools and grew up in Granger. He was the youngest of seven children.
He married Angelina Anna David Wright on September 14, 1943.
Mr. Wright served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a radar operator in New Guinea from 1943 to 1945.
He was a farmer and then a custom harvester in the Taylor area for over 40 years. He was known for owning red Massey-Ferguson combines. He later became a real-estate broker.
Mr. Wright was a long time member of the Northview Christian Church in Taylor. He was initiated into the Taylor Chapter of the Masonic Lodge in 1953. He was also a Shriner. He was recognized as a 50 year Mason in 2003 at a ceremony conducted by the lodge chapter in Taylor.
Mr. Wright is survived by his daughter Peggy Wright McPeak, two grandchildren, Aaron Lee McPeak and Ashley Rebecca McPeak, his wife Murl G. Wright, ex-sons-in-law, Robert Brian McPeak and Robert G. Simmons, Jr. and other relatives.
He is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Angelina Anna David Wright, his son, Robert Louis “Bobby” Wright, two sisters, three brothers and a half-brother.
Pallbearers include nephews, Wayne Wright, Vernon Wright, Harold Wright, James Wright and great-nephews, Earl Gremillion III and Charles Burgess.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, August 19, 2011 at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.
Services to be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 3:00 pm at the Northview Christian Church in Taylor, officiated by Brother Bill Ward.
Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
