Linda Kay Cook- Harrison, age 79, passed away peacefully October 4, 2021, due to cancer and congestive heart failure. Her family was by her bedside. She was born September 19, 1942, in Taylor, Texas to Ted and Lillian Cook. She married Walter E Harrison, in December of 1962 and would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on December 15th.
Linda was a special lady who loved people and just wanted to make them happy. One way she did this was to establish the Taylor Toppers of the Red Hat Society with about 20+ members. They would visit rest homes and assisted living facilities in Taylor, Granger and Round Rock where they entertained the residents with song and dance from their era. She was the Queen of the Red Hat chapter and directed the activities for fifteen years until failing health. She was very talented and creative with arts
and crafts and would spend weeks making beautiful things for every season and holiday for each of her grandchildren. She also made little gifts for each of the residents of the rest homes visited. Linda was a
devout Christian who never missed saying her rosary three times each day. She was a gifted writer and speaker, writing and speaking, from her heart and real-life experience and spoke at many religious gatherings throughout the area.
Linda believed "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ. " Her life was a living example of what a wife, mother and real friend should be. Linda is survived by her Husband, Walter; Daughter and husband Heidi and Mark; Son and wife Tyke and Becca; Brother and wife Ted and Dianne; ten grandchildren; Stevie, Aaron, Torry and wife Amy, Shelby, Gracie, Presley, Madelyn and husband Ethan, Dawson and wife Jocelyn, Caden and wife Kayley; Plus, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
No Service is planned at Linda's request.
