

Born in Taylor to the late Raymond Shaw and late Jean Elizabeth Kalinec, younger brother to the late Jimmie Lee Shaw.
Lonnie was proud to serve in the United States Navy, on the USS George Clymer. He retired from the University of Texas after 30+ years.
Lonnie was an accomplished musician, playing country music on his steel guitar all over Texas and the southern U.S. He met his beloved wife of 43 years at The Broken Spoke in Austin, where he was performing.
Lonnie is survived by a legacy of people he was proud to call family. His wife Margie R. Shaw, half-brother Kenneth & Debbie Shaw, step-son Ron Durrett, step-daughter-in-law Jinnie Nutt, grandchildren Kellie & Toby Robinson, Carly & Clint McAuley, cousins C.A. & Lola Jennings, Butch & Carolyn Oliver, and countless other cousins, nieces and nephews, family and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, step-father Rudy Kalinec, sister Jimmie Lee Shaw, and step-son Michael Nutt.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Granger, where he was a member.
