

Ruth Arlene Peterson Robbins, 88, of Taylor passed away September 4, 2015. She was born April 3, 1927, in Spencer, Iowa to the late Ernest Peterson and Blanche Crosser Peterson. Her family moved to California in 1939. During World War II, Ruth worked as a welder at Bethlehem Steel Shipyard. After the war, they moved to Colorado where she met Sgt. Carl Pritchett. They married in 1955. They transferred to the 11th Armored Cavalry and they were sent to Landshut, Germany. There, the Lord blessed them with two wonderful children, Jimmy and Candy. They were the joy of her life. She later moved to Luling, Texas, where she met Lloyd Robbins and they married in 1969. Lloyd was already blessed with three wonderful children, Larry, Carrie and Barry.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Pritchett and wife Cheryl of Houston, Candy Tesch and husband Sandy of Victoria, Larry Robbins and wife Dianne of Taylor, Carrie Jackson of Belton, Barry Robbins and wife Kathleen of Seguin, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, niece Debbie Tuton and husband Johnny, nephews Alvie Etheredge and wife Carol, and Roger Ellis of Luling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, sister Grace Etheredge and her granddaughter Amber Robbins.
She had many friends and neighbors at Grace Place where she lived for 23 years who will miss her positive outlook. Her family would like to thank her caregivers at Caring Home Health for their excellent service, with special thanks to caregivers Florine and Victoria.
Services will be held at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor on Tuesday, September 8, at 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow in Luling.
