She was born October 24, 1927, in Granger to Anton and Millie (Kveton) Machu. She married Daniel T. Blaha Sr. on November 29,1949 and they celebrated 61 years together until his passing. While living in Granger, as a young mother, she dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and two children. Later they moved to Taylor, TX where she worked in a sewing factory and then in the kitchen at Taylor SPJST Rest Home where she retired. Sadie was a longtime member of the SPJST Granger Lodge 20 and was recognized at a Granger football game in 2024 for being the oldest graduate from Granger High School class of 1944. She enjoyed canning, baking and gardening, where she especially loved her roses. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her six great-grandchildren. She cared for them very much and you could tell by the smile that would light up a room when she seen them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel; daughter, Katherine Blaha; nephew Greg Machu; brother-in-law, Raymond and sister-in-law, Betty Blaha.
Sadie is survived by her son, Daniel F. Blaha, Jr and wife Katherine; daughter Patricia (Pat) Raesz and husband, Larry; four grandchildren, Melissa Wentrcek and husband Michael; Kimberly Knippa and husband Daniel, Brandon Raesz, Bradley Raesz; six great-grand-children, Dayton and Khloe Knippa, Bryce, Brynn and Graysen Raesz, Madyson Wentrcek; brother, Darwin Machu and wife Nancy; four nieces, Rhonda Roten and husband, Bobby, Dawn Pehl and husband, Michael, Pam Bartek and husband, Mark, Cheryl Malm and husband, Brett.
