

Andrew Kent Welch age 43 of Cumberland Gap, TN passed away suddenly at his home on August 14, 2010. He was born in Monroe, Michigan on May 7, 1967 and spent his childhood and adult life in Speedwell, TN. He is a 1985 graduate of Powell Valley High School. Andy loved being with his friends and family and he had an infectious laugh and a happy spirit, which made people love to be with him. He was generous with his affection and almost always left his loved ones with a hug and an “I love you”. He was a skilled carpenter and he loved the lake, and spent as much time as possible boating and fishing. He was an avid football fan and loved his Tennessee Vols. Andy accepted Christ as his Savior at age 10, along with both of his brothers and his sister, at Pump Hollow Baptist Church. He was baptized with his siblings in the Clinch River at the River Bridge. Dearly loved and sadly missed by his wife, Vickie Evans, and his stepdaughter, Chelcee Evans of Cumberland Gap; his Parents, Wanda and Larry Welch of Speedwell; his brothers, Brian Welch and Bill Welch both of Speedwell; and his sister, Amy Welch Walker of Knoxville. He is survived also by 4 nieces. Megan and Emily Welch and Chelsea and Catelyn Biefeldt; and two nephews, Chase Biefeldt and Eli Welch. Andy had a multitude of friends, and he will be sorely missed by special friends, Brian “Possum” Ridenour, and Dexter Honeycutt, in addition to a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. To know him is to love him.
A celebration of his life will be held at Coffey Mortuary, 150 Beech Street in Harrogate, TN on Wednesday August 18, 2010 at 8:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. Wednesday night at the Coffey Funeral Home. Burial at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Welch Family Cemetery.
