

Armand G. Santiago, age 82, died peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida. Armand also known to others by “Lolo” or “Amang” is survived by his children; Jose (Bridgette), of Georgia; Sheila Rutter, of Illinois; Maria (Jerome Malkowski – fiancé) of Illinois; Armand (Susy), of Florida; and Sharon (Ryann) Castillo, of California. He is also survived by his sister and brother, Araceli and Manuel, of California, along with 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his wife, Priscilla Santiago; his parents, Petronila and Gaudencio Santiago; his siblings, Jose, Bernardo, Conrado and Avelina. Born Augusto Santiago on July 15, 1935, in the town of San Antonio, the province of Nueve Ecija, Philippines, to parents Petronila and Gaudencio Santiago. During his time in the Philippines he worked as a lineman with the electric company as well as a bus driver for a nursing school. Here is when he met his wife Priscilla Aguilar. In 1971, he and his family left the Philippines bound for the United States to be reunited with his wife Priscilla, who was working in Chicago, IL. In the 1980s, Augusto was naturalized as a US citizen changing his name to Armand. During his life within the United States, he worked as a baker and retired as a carpenter. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday November 4th, 2017 at Blount & Curry Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N 56th St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617.
