To the family of CP Shah,
CP has been a light in our lives ever since meeting him decades ago.  His wife Kantah and Tom were colleagues at USF.  Upon meeting CP we instantly knew we had a new friend.  He was kind, warm, curious, and caring about others.  His generosity of spirit was remarkable.
We enjoyed many meals at one another's homes over these many years, as well as celebrations for our family.
CP leaves a remarkable legacy as a truly global citizen, dedicated and loving husband , father and grandfather.  His family carries on his spirit in many ways, large and small.
Our hearts go out to the entire Shah family for this great loss in their lives.  May he rest in eternal peace.  Love, Susan and Tom Freeman

How do you sum up a lifetime of memories and accomplishments in a few short paragraphs? How do you successfully complete a career in Radiology that spanned 3 continents and lasted over 40 years? 
Not all that difficult if you are CP Shah. In a nutshell, CP Shah was an intellectual, his keen intellect drove all his pursuits. His passion was tennis, in the early and middle decades of his life, it was playing tennis. With the passage of time when playing ceased to be an option, he turned to watching tennis, not just the majors but even smaller tournaments on TV. He was driven; he wanted to understand the intricacies of each stroke and style, each player, each movement. Whatever he did, he was all in! 
CP’s intellect, ethics, kindness, and inquisitiveness were inspiring. He was generous to a fault, a true friend, and a mentor. I will always remember the many, many good times we shared. Barbecuing at his beach condo in the 1990s year after year with friends is a very special memory that we all will cherish.
CP passed away at the age of 82 after a courageous battle, surrounded by loved ones especially his wife of 55 years who hopefully will continue to honor his legacy by living her life to the fullest.
His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the trouble, CP came out a hero and stayed strong until the end with phenomenal and unwavering support from Kanta.
 All people die, but not all people live on. CP Shah - for all the memories and friendships you created, you will live on in our memories forever.

C..P  had a catchy smile. We stayed with them when they were still in New Jersey. Great hosts Chuni and Kanta. We pray to God to rest his soul in eternal peace.

It is with deep sorrow that we learnt about passing away of Chunibhai. We had the privilage of spending a few days with you Kantabhabhi and Chunibhai in 1982 when visiting Tampa, Florida. We also met Chunibhai in London at your daughter’s place. Last we saw and talked with him in Mombasa in July 2017 during Ashish’s wedding. You Kantabhabhi took great care of him during his sickness. We pray to Lord Mahavir to grant Chunibhai’s soul ultimate ‘sadgati’.

We'll all miss his smile and his jovial nature. He always made a point to get in touch and meet-up during his trips to London. He was a fighter and made the most of life despite all the illnesses he faced. We pray to the Almighty that his soul rests in forever eternal peace Om Shanti Om Shanti. Apparently as a baby I was a play doll for uncle and aunty when they were students at medical school in Bombay. So that’s a long time association and hence too many stories to tell. For me they are just a another set of parents on the other side of the world. CP uncle  was that blatant and funny uncle who said whatever came to his mind! So one can’t get offended coz he was just affectionately frank. And God forbid you are driving with him. We drove up to Cornell and all the way he was giving instructions like as though i was taking a driving lesson. Till we reached  the campus relieved, and he goes.. “do you know how to park on a slope?” 
We will always remember his smiling face and playful demeanour. We love you uncle!

CP was a gentle soul who always greeted you with a smile when he saw you. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.

A very pure school who was always concerned about family.  For me he was more than a cousin - a friend  - with who we spent 4 years in high school and enjoyed many Sundays - walking together on the Indian Ocean coastline.  Our correspondence stretching over many years whilst C. P.  was a medical student in Mumbai has recorded all those cherishable moments. Our memories are  filled with joy and fun when I visited Tampa in 1982 and 1987.
