David George Eriksen

David George Eriksen, 82, passed away on August 28th, 2024 at home surrounded by family in Wesley Chapel, FL.

David was born in Brooklyn, NY to George W. Eriksen & Dorothy Kopp Eriksen on May 6th, 1942. He graduated from Luther College, Decorah, IA and then married his college sweetheart Donna Leone Stein on June 6, 1964 in Moorhead, MN. He worked as a Senior Engineer for IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY for 38 years, while being involved for several decades with Poughkeepsie Rotary Club and St. John’s Lutheran Church.

David was a loving husband, father, papa and great-papa. He and Donna enjoyed their many travels around the world. They also enjoyed their time at Ocean Isle with friends, and yearly 4th of July trips to Anna Maria Island with family. He enjoyed needlepoint, sudoko and supporting his grandkids in sports and school events.

David is preceded in death by his parents George & Dorothy Eriksen and brother-In-Law, Earl Stein.

David is survived by his wife of 60 years Donna, his girls Cari (Todd) Bennett, Julie (Blake) Niehoff, Jenifer (Erik) Simmons, his brother Calvin (Marie) Eriksen, sister-in-law Kathy Stein, his grandchildren Joie (Torey) Dean, Connor Bennett, Rileigh Bennett, Kate Niehoff, Ryan Simmons, Brady Simmons, his great-grandchildren Avery Dean, Isla Dean and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on September 20, 2024 at Lake Magdalene Church, 2902 Fletcher Ave, Tampa FL 33618.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center, see link below.
