I still miss my friend when we worked on the ports together in security at Yale Enforcement.  He showed me how to tear down my Glock and put it back together again.  He didn’t smile a lot but I could make him smile and laugh a little chuckle at times.  He was the only one on my crew that met my dog, my little poodle Candy.  That’s when he told me something personal about himself.  He said that he had big dog at home.  Only liked big dogs.  But he petted my Candy and grabbed her up lovingly as she begged for him.  He was a true gentle man who I shall never forget

My name is Jan Thompson Salazar Martin.  I was a friend of Dragan’s when I worked security on the ports of Tampa under Compass Security/Yale Enforcement Security.  Dragan knew me as Lt. Jan Salazar until 2008.  He was very strong, sensitive, honest, and sincere with kindness.  He had such a beautiful soul and sweet heart, but I never knew him past the ports.  But, I could tell what a good person he was from our short talks when changing shifts or transferring information between us.  I’ve often thought of Dragan, as a friend of mine who I missed after I left Yale Enforcement.  We both lost our friend Stephan Rodriguez to cancer before I left the company, and like Steve, I never expected to see an obituary for Dragan.  I was shocked to see that another friend had passed. I don’t have any photos of my friends from that period of my life.  I wish I did have some for my own memory sake. I still miss my friend and don’t know what happened to him.  Maybe one day someone will tell me.  My email is jtm63@live.com for anyone who cares to contact me and let me know about my friend.  I started looking for him because his home is in peril; Ukraine.  I remember him standing strong and proud telling me about his days as a Ukrainian soldier and showed me the solute.  So, awesome!!  I so miss my friend Dragan!  I always will!!

Dragan was a dragon 🐉 ,
He was a man that loved life and appreciated everything it had to offer. He was a supportive and loving friend who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. He was always just a call away when I needed him. Dragan was lighthearted and always ready for a laugh. He was one the most optimistic people I knew, as well as one of my best friends.
Dragan was a remarkable being, and he will live forever in our memories. 
We will love him always, Milena & Ancika.
