Jack Ray Gay

Born on January 20, 1935, in Bell, Florida, Jack was the son of Leroy and Allie Gay. He attended Bell High School and later graduated from Florida College. On December 14, 1957, Jack married Marilyn Lorene Todd in Rogersville, Missouri. They shared 58 years of marriage before her passing.

Jack proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for over 30 years as an industrial electrician at Reynolds Metal Company. He was a faithful member of the Temple Terrace Church of Christ and remained active in the community throughout his life.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Allie Gay; his beloved wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Cheryl Wilson (Gay); and four brothers: Hubert, Felton, Frank, and Lloyd Gay.

He is survived by his brother, Edward Gay; his sons, Jeff Gay and Tim (Sheri) Gay; his grandchildren, Megan (Jay) Wineinger, Brooke (Kevin) Harrington, Kristen Gay, Evan (Alexis) Vlk, Kailey Gay, and Carter (Alexis) Gay; and his great-grandchildren, Kate, Jack, and Anna Wineinger, Landon, Eli, Wilson, and Hadley Harrington, Adelaide and Ellison Vlk, and Lincoln and Halston Gay.

Honorary pallbearers will include Evan Vlk, Carter Gay, Jay Wineinger, Kevin Harrington, Jeff Strickland, James Witherington, Tim Morris, and Kerry Keenan.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Temple Terrace Church of Christ, with Don Truex officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery on Friday, January 24, 2025. Arrangements are entrusted to Blount & Curry Funeral Home.
