Lynn Kay Hajek

Lynn Hajek, age 67, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 19, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald and Kay Erdmann and lived in the area until moving to Florida to be near her son and daughter in law in Tampa, FL almost 5 years ago. Lynn led a life filled with love, laughter, and joy.

Lynn was a wonderful wife and mother and an avid reader. Friends and family frequently sought her advice on book recommendations, and she was always eager to engage in discussions about what others were reading.

She was full of life and always quick to laugh. Her bright smile, warm heart, and infectious sense of humor brought comfort and happiness to everyone around her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and loved, and her joyful spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Frank Hajek; her beloved son, Erik Hajek; and her daughter-in-law, Nikki Spirakis. Lynn was a devoted wife, a proud mother, cherished mother-in-law, and amazing grandma to her granddog, Moose. Her love and kindness knew no limits.

In true Lynn fashion, she did not wish for a formal service. Instead, she asked that those who loved her gather at their favorite local bar, raise a glass, share a laugh, and toast to her memory. A drink in her honor—preferably tequila—would be just the way she wanted to be remembered. To honor that wish in Tampa, we would love everyone to gather at Paddy Wagon’s New Tampa location at 17506 Preserve Walk Ln. Tampa, FL 33647 on January 24, 2026 at 3:00pm.

Though cancer took her from us far too soon, it never took her strength, grace, or sense of humor. Her memory will live on in the laughter she shared, the love she gave, and the many lives she touched.
