Stan Jayson of Tampa passed away Saturday January 12, 2019 after a long illness. He was born August 31, 1943 in Flushing, NY to K. Stanley and Ruth Jayson.
Stan went to broadcasting school in New York and started his career as a radio disc jockey in Texas. After that he was on radio in Lynchburg, VA and later his career took him to TV news. He was a news anchor in Lynchburg and Charleston, WV before moving to Tampa 34 years ago. He retired in 2001 from WTVT in Tampa after a successful and enjoyable career.
He loved to be with family and have dinners for everyone to enjoy. After retirement his cousins persuaded him to go on a cruise. That was the start of many years of enjoyment having gone on 32 cruises.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Alan. He is survived by his brother Don and wife Lorraine, sister-in-law Sue, his niece Samantha, friend and caregiver Jerry Johnson.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Blount & Curry Terrace Oaks Chapel. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM Friday, January 18 at Manasota Memorial Park Bradenton, FL.
