

Graveside services for Evangeline San Miguel Garcia, 90, of Temple will be held Tuesday October 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple with Pastor Scott Wilmot officiating.
She was born September 13, 1923 in Temple to Raphael and Clotilde Salinas San Miguel. Ms. Garcia died October 19, 2013 in Temple.
She graduated with honors from Temple High School and received a scholarship to the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. In 1941, she married Jose Pedro (Pete) Garcia. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the King’s Daughters Hospital Auxiliary and the Garden Plotters. Evangeline was also a translator for Parkdale Professional Development School in Waco when needed. She was also a published author of poetry and received several awards at the City of Temple Senior Games for her writings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Garcia, a son, David Garcia, daughter, Suzanna Garcia and granddaughter, Laura Collier Gaines.
Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Kidd of Killeen & husband Mike, Cynthia Garcia-Conn of Temple and a son, daughter in law Susie Garcia of Temple, Ted Garcia and wife Alice also of Temple, along with five grandsons, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church of Temple or to the charity of choice.
A visitation will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple prior to the services on Tuesday from 10a.m. – 12:00p.m.
Crawford-Bowers have been entrusted with all arrangements.
