

Jack received a Bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University. While attending Howard Payne, he met Patty Lou Eads. They were married on February 28, 1959 in Chillicothe, Texas, and were married for over 63 years until her death.
Jack enjoyed fishing, golf, his daily coffee meetings with his friends, and playing Uno with his family. He served on the Board of Trustees for Howard Payne University and various other civic organizations.
For over 50 years, Jack was pastor to nine churches, interim pastor to four churches and associate pastor to one church throughout Texas and Arkansas.
Following his retirement, he served as funeral assistant at Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park and Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, Temple, Killeen and Copperas Cove. He also served as a substitute teacher in Wichita Falls, Belton and Temple.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Otha Charles and Clovis Riley, his wife, Patty and his brother, Col. Don Riley.
He is survived by his children Kip and Suzanne Riley of Normangee, KaKi and Jack McKinney of Cary, North Carolina, Kade and Gina Riley of San Saba; grandchildren, Scott and Rebecca Riley of Lindsay, Stephen and Anne Thomas McKinney of Durham, North Carolina, Jill and Marcus Mataga of Waco, Allie and Jack Pruden of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lindsey Riley and Lauren Riley both of San Saba; great grandchildren Madelyn Riley, Walker Pruden and Charlie McKinney; sisters in law Freeda Eads Jett and Nancy Riley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank special friends and neighbors Howard, Kenny, Shirley, Drayton, Jerry and Min for their love and support through the years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Ridgecrest Healthcare Center of Waco, for their loving care for Jack.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Belton, Texas.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
