James "Jim" Louis Chapman

June 22,1944 - January 15, 2024

On January 15, 2024 Jim received his wings and joined his loved ones in the afterlife. Jim was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 22, 1944, and he was the son to Homer and Helen Chapman. He married his beloved wife Glenda Davis Chapman on September 12, 1975 in Temple,TX.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a truck driver and loader operator, and he retired in June of 2019. He liked monster trucks, solving word searches and fill ins, painting by number on his tablet, his dogs, teasing his grandkids, and everything John Wayne. He always thought family came first, so that’s why he worked so hard to provide for his family. He was proud of the family he and Glenda built together.

Jim is survived by his son, James Chapman and wife Karen of Rogers, three daughters Melba Chapman of Troy, Martha Chapman of Troy, Vicky Kroos and wife Maria of Temple, grandchildren; Breanna(28) Kristian(20) Justin(20) Shylee(20) Dartanyn(19) Steven(18) Austin(17) Zane(16) Braden(16) Koalsyn(9) and great-grandson Tucker(3 months).

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Davis Chapman; one son John Wayne Chapman; parents Homer and Helen Chapman; two sisters Mary St.Clair; and Janet Chapman; and nephew Lee Chapman.

A memorial service is planned to be held for Jim on February 24, 2024 with time and location to be determined at a later date.

Jim is dearly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. However we take great comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing with his wife, son, and loved ones in the afterlife.
