

He was born in Mason, TX, on August 25, 1934, to Perry Fairchild Sr., and Cleo Arnold Fairchild. He graduated from Belton High School in 1952. He married Frances Cooper on May 2, 1953, in Belton, TX. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and Korean Veteran. He served 41 years with the US Army Missile Command, worldwide, and retired as Branch Chief. After retirement, he worked 11 years for Enterprise in Temple and Austin. He was a member of the American Legion #133 Temple. He was a member of Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Penny Nesuda.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fran; one son, Perry Fairchild, III (Barbara) of Taylor’s Valley; one daughter, Kay Phillips (Larry) of Fort Smith, AR; six grandchildren, Kyle Phillips of Berlin, Germany, Mandi Williams (Justin) of Fort Smith, AR, Pamela Fitzsimmons (Robert), Tonya Sallee (Joe), Tiffany Shipp (Kyle) of Temple, and Hillarie Matthews (Scott) of Teague, TX; 13 great grand children, Ethan, Evan and Emily Williams of Fort Smith, AR, Hayley Fitzsimmons, Will, Aidan, Collin, and Ben Sallee, Gehrig and Abigail Shipp, all of Temple, and David, Madelynn, and Jacob Matthews of Teague; a sister, Alice Ann Blanchard of Gatesville and a brother, Richard Fairchild (Deloris) of Van Alstyne, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Whitley, Justin Cross, Justin Williams, Joe Sallee, Robert Fitzsimmons and Kevin Marshall.

Visitation will be Thursday May 5 from 6pm-8pm at Crawford Bower Funeral Home, Temple. Funeral service will be Friday May 6 at 2pm at Taylor's Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Matthews and Rev. Kyle Shipp officiating. Burial will follow at Greathouse Cemetery.
