

Services for William Bryant Weathers, 81, of Belton, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. at Criswell Cemetery near Marlin, TX. He died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at his home.
Bill was born Dec 23, 1929 in Rome, GA to Frank Clanton Weathers and May Weaver Weathers. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged May 20, 1953. He married Ava Gene Breed Nov 23, 1951 in Marlin, TX. He was a graduate of Davidson College, NC and the University of Texas, Austin. He was a CPA and partner with Wade-Barton-Marsh and subsequently Main LaFrance. He was employed for more than 10 years as the City Auditor for the City of Austin and then remained in private practice until he retired.
Mr. Weathers was a member of Wilshire Presbyterian Church (now Genesis) where he served as Deacon and Elder. He was a member of the Austin Lions Club and a 45+ gallon donor at Austin Regional Blood Bank.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Frank Clanton Weathers, and an aunt, Frances Weathers.
Survivors include his wife Ava Gene Bread Weathers; five sons, William Philip Weathers and his wife Sandra, Timothy Weathers and his wife Lottie, Scott Weathers and his wife Pam, John Weathers and his wife Sue, Stephen Weathers and his wife Pat; two sisters, Hope Bothwell and her husband David, Julia Hart and her husband Phil; a brother-in-law David Breed and his wife Lorrie; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
