She loved painting and coloring, gardening, and attending church. She loved spending time with her sisters, children, and grandchildren. She was an excellent baker, but admitted later in life that she was a bigger fan of eating her baked goods than making them. Betty was known for being a kind and generous human who always made people around her feel loved. Her sisters were her best friends. Her love for her sons, along with her grandchildren, defined her life and supported every aspect of theirs. She had a delightful sense of humor and a dedication to enjoying the little things in life. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl Heckelsberg and Harold Bender; sons, Randall Heckelsberg and Danny Heckelsberg; along with her siblings, Marjorie Richardson, Carol McDaniel, Harriett McCoy, Joanne Vandevier, Virginia Sankey, Uldine Harmon, and Bill Collins. Private services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home. Roselawn Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net.
