Betty Joe Dean

Betty is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Clements of Marshall, IL, Patricia Love (Michael) of Seelyville, and Ruth Rukes (Brad) of Rosedale; four grandchildren, Lt. Col. Christopher Clements (Beatriz) of Hawaii, Maj. Adam Clements (Cori) of Highland, IL, Sara Love Smith (Bryan) of Brazil, and Josie Love of Seelyville; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Smith, Sydnee Smith, Grayson Clements, Lawson Clements, Corbin Clements, David Clements, and Logan Clements; and a niece Beverly Ford (Rick) of Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Richard Dean; son-in-law, Bill Clements; and a sister, Evelyn Hillis.

Betty retired from Reuben H. Donnelley after many years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth, and White Shrine. Betty was an active member of Northside United Methodist Church and she loved to sing in the choir. A talented bowler, Betty was a member, past president and treasurer of the Greater Terre Haute Bowlers and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1993. When she wasn’t bowling strikes, Betty could be found relaxing with a good book or spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 2 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home with Rev. Clark Cowden officiating. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
