Betty Mae Van Fossen

Betty Mae Van Fossen, 96, passed away on April 12, 2021, in Granbury, Texas.
She was born on July 9, 1924 to John and Mae (Pugh) Bartlett in Vigo County, Indiana.
Betty was a graduate of Fontanet High School. On June 26, 1948, Betty married the love of her life, Ray Van Fossen, in Terre Haute, IN., and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
She is survived by her son, Dale Van Fossen and his wife, Susan, of Granbury, TX; granddaughter Christy Janssen of Kansas City, MO; great grandsons, Connor Janssen and Aiden Janssen; as well as several nieces and nephews in Ohio, West Virginia, Nevada and Fort Wayne, IN.
Betty was a devoted mother and factory worker. She worked at Quaker Maid, Columbia House, and Bemis.
She was a member of the Jolly Traveler’s Club. She enjoyed many crafts and baking pies and cakes for her friends. She especially loved playing with her grand-daughter.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ray; father, John Bartlett; step mother, Vera Bartlett; mother Mae Scwibbe; brother, Jack Bartlett; sister, Patricia Hale; and nephews Mike Hale and Charles Bartlett.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, located on 801 Fort Harrison Road, Terre Haute, IN., 47804.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 11am-1pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1pm. Roselawn Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net.
