

Carole Jean Skorupski, beloved mother and grandmother, of Clinton Township, formerly of Detroit, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at St. John Hospital in Detroit at the age of 83 with her family by her side. Carole was born July 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Ernest and Agnes (Lee) Rock. On May 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to Gilbert A. Skorupski, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1979. An excellent seamstress, Carole would often sew for her grandchildren and also enjoyed singing on Tuesday's at the Clinton Township Senior Center. Carole also was a regular attendee of the quilting club at St. Raymond's in Detroit, where she was a parishioner for many years. She leaves behind her three sons, Gilbert E. (Diane), Norbert "Nibby" (Claudia) and Stevan (Beth); her nine grandchildren, Norbert, Laura, Andrew, Jennifer, Chelsea, Evan, Natalie, Stacey and Spencer, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Carole was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Camille Grace. She will forever be remembered as a hardworking, strong willed and independent woman. The entire Skorupski family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to St. John’s Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Carole in her last days.
