

Clarence Lee Kennedy, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on July 23, 1935, in Terre Haute, to Orval and Goldie Kennedy. Clarence was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. He served in the United States Army. Clarence retired from Roadway Transportation after 35 years of dedicated service. Clarence enjoyed going out to dinner and looking for wildlife with his best friend, Shirley Adams.
Clarence is survived by his son, Clarence Kennedy Jr., and his wife Maggie of Terre Haute; a sister, Phyllis Mason and her husband John of Terre Haute; a brother, Daniel Kennedy and his wife Betty of Terre Haute; his best friend, Shirley Adams of Terre Haute; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kennedy; his parents; sisters, Dorothy Fenton, Nellie Tingley, and Helen Kennedy; and brothers, Don, William, Robert, and Albert Kennedy.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N. Lafayette Ave. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
