

Cynthia was born to Elmer and Madeline Smith on January 3, 1950 in Chicago, IL. She later became a beautician. She was a very kind hearted person and loving mother.
Cynthia lived in Oceanside, California for over 30 years where she was a Eucharist Minister, loved watching the sunset, listening to music, playing cards, playing accordion, and watching Mass on TV.
Cynthia had a beloved cat named Madeline and bird named Elmer who would often keep her company.
Cynthia is survived by her daughters April Smith, Christine Redfern (Smith), and Michelle Smith; grandchildren Tyler Smith, Justin Stevens, Cody Briley, and Hailey Smith; several great grandchildren; sisters Pamela Thiel and Anita Smith; her only surviving aunt Mary Alice; nieces Denise (Thiel) Walstra and husband Pete, Ronda (Thiel) Leon and son Nicholas and husband Dave (deceased), Sandy (Thiel) Noe and husband Ted and son TJ and family; many cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Madeline Smith (Brown) and favorite brother-in-law Charlie Thiel.
The family would like to thank her caretakers Scott and Susie Saroyan, and her Eucharist Minister Theresa LaBlanc.
A cremation committal service will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 12:30pm in the cemetery chapel.
Cynthia will be sorely missed by many people, especially her family and friends.
