

Edna graduated from Cayuga High School in 1950. She retired from Columbia Records after thirty-three years. She was a teacher’s aide for two years and then retired for good.
Edna was a Past Queen of the Nile. She was Past Mighty Chosen One of the Kerman Caldron #19 Daughters of Mokanna and was a Supreme Marshall. Edna was a member of Amaranth Court #25, a member of Woman’s Department Club, where she was Vice President. She was also a member of the Red Hat Sisters at the Cross Roads. Edna joined Eastern Star in 1957 and was a 50-year member. She joined Twelve Points Chapter #528 located at William Penn Lodge.
Edna met James “Jim” Helms while working at the Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton, Indiana. They were married July 22, 1951. Edna and Jim were married 72 years before he passed in 2023.
Edna is survived by her son, Kenneth (Marsha) Helms; daughter, Donna (Chip) Hoskins; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jim and a son, Randy Helms.
Graveside services for Edna will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Park at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Clinton American Legion Post 140.
