

Elizabeth Ann Sherer, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home on August 20, 2013. She died of complications resulting from a recent stroke and heart attack. Liz, as she was called, was surrounded by her family. She was married for forty-five (45) years to the love of her life, Wayne Sherer. Liz was born in Linton, Indiana on April 17, 1938. At four years of age, she and her family moved to Terre Haute, where she remained for the remainder of her life. She was a graduate of Wiley High School. Prior to her marriage, Liz worked as a book keeper at Hillman Jewelers for many years, but she retired in 1968 to be a full time homemaker. For fourteen (14) years, she attended Bible Study Fellowship, and during that time, she also served in several leadership positions. More recently, she was an active member of PEO in Terre Haute.
Liz is survived by her husband, Wayne, and their three children; daughter, Susan Sherer-Vincent of Noblesville, Indiana, son Mark Sherer and his wife Amy, of Dickinson, North Dakota, and daughter Ann Green and her husband Ted, of Krum, Texas, together with nine (9) grandchildren: Jeremy Vincent, Tyler Vincent, Benjamin Vincent, Elizabeth Vincent, Sam Sherer, Katie Sherer, Jacob Sherer, Riley Green and Harrison Green, as well as one great-grandson, Caleb Haymaker. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Bohley and his wife Betty, of Munster, Indiana, two sisters, Hester Morris of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Sarah Johnson and her husband Jim, of Anderson, Indiana, together with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Etta Westfall.
The Sherer family would like to offer their gratitude to Liz’s caregivers over the past several months as well as to Hospice of Wabash Valley for the special care and comfort they provided to Liz, and the family, during the final week of her life.
Funeral services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Vince McFarland officiating. Visitation will occur from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the charity or organization of your choice.
