

Floyd F. Carpenter, 94, of West Terre Haute passed away Monday, November 16. Floyd was born on March 12, 1921 to Fred and Myrtle Carpenter in Tecumseh, Indiana. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Hastings Merchant Marine Vessel as a gunner. He retired from Public Service in 1983 after many years. He had many hobbies in his lifetime which included woodworking, square dancing, fishing, gardening, and playing cards, but most of all, Floyd loved being with his family. He had the privilege of being on the Inaugural Indianapolis Honor Flight.
Survivors include his daughter Judith Krischak and husband Edward, son Fred Carpenter and wife Sandrah, daughter Susan E. Farnham and husband Bradley, step-daughter Patricia Lindley and husband Jim; and special friend Sue Edwards. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Floyd is preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, Jane Tennis Carpenter; his second wife also of 29 years, Marilyn Starkey Carpenter; and son Michael Carpenter.
A service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home at 1p.m. with a visitation prior to service at 11a.m.- 1.p.m. Burial will take place after the services at Roselawn Memorial Park.
