Geraldine "Gerry" Catherine Ofsansky

Geraldine “Gerry” C. Ofsansky, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away at Union Hospital on Sept. 19, 2013. She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Allentown, Pa., to Lucien Sheetz and Margaret Jones Sheetz. Geraldine retired from the Wabash Valley News Agency after 40 years of service. In her early years, she loved to swim and crochet and was an avid reader. She enjoyed being with her family; her nieces and nephews were very special to her.

Geraldine is survived by a son, John J. Ofsansky; daughters, Shirley A. Mowell and Marget M. Bledsoe; granddaughters Gina and husband Jeffrey Nyland, Erin and Michael Quinlan, and Meredith A. Bledsoe; and a great-great-granddaughter, Riley M. Quinlan. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Margaret McKee, and a very special friend and neighbor, Sue Hamilton.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Margaret Sheetz; and brothers Donald, Kenneth, Robert and Leonard Sheetz of Pennsylvania.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Thomas Funeral Home, with a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Per her wishes, cremation is scheduled.
