Obituary of Hans Karl Eilbracht
Hans Karl Eilbracht, 88, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Exceptional Living Center in Brazil, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 14, 1931, in Melbergen, Germany to Fritz and Louise (Berg) Eilbracht. Hans is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marianne Eilbracht of Terre Haute; children, Hans C. Eilbracht and Steven K. Eilbracht (Lisa M.), JoAnne Wigginton (Gerhardt) and Debby Wittenmyer (Bill); grandchildren, Kristina Landes (Steve), Jason L. Rogers (Candi), Samuel Arnold (Lindsey), Emily Jacobs (Alex), Kylie Arnold (Deric), Danielle Pond (Jordan), Mallory Eilbracht, Jonathan Eilbracht (Ashton), Lindsay Bitz (Sean), Michael Eilbracht (Nicole); nieces, Monika Givens, Marianne Kissel, and Kathy Oye; ten great-grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters; and extended family in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Andrew James Arnold; one brother, and two sisters. Hans served for six years in the United States Army Reserve. He was the founding partner and owner of Machine Tool Service (MTS) for 34 years. He was a founding member of the Oberlandler German Club. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife and the two were members of the Swinging Mates Dance Club. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 23 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Hans will be laid to rest at a later date in the Memorial Chapel at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
