Helen Louise Huff

Helen was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her trips to the casinos. She worked at Union Hospital, Zenith of Paris, IL and Columbia Records. She was a member of the Barbour Avenue United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law James and Sharon Huff; daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Gary Roberts and son-in-law Bob Knight; brother and sisters; Herb Long, Georgia Sears, Dorothy Biggs and Pauline Emmert. She had 5 grandchildren; Carol (Huff) Castro, Melinda (Huff) Bones, Gary Joe Roberts, Tom and Ted Knight, 10 great-grandchildren; Gena, Tony and Cory Castro, Karina Bones, Jami, Jennifer and Matthew Roberts, Ben, Ian and Isabella Knight and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren: Hayden Ray Castro, Peyton Williams and Mckail Roberts and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 28 years Jesse Huff; Son and Daughter-in-law John and Becky Huff, Daughter Delores Knight, brothers Olaf “Red” Long and Herschel Long and sisters Nancy Long and Patricia Berg and two grandchildren John Huff JR and Jennifer Roberts.

The family would like to offer their gratitude to her caregivers at Signature Health Care over the past year and Great Lakes Caring Hospice staff for the special care for the final days of her life.

Funeral services are scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 27, 2013 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to the organization of the donor’s choice.
