

Jessie Mae (Bell) Rasor, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, March 29., 2025 at 6:00pm at Terre Haute Union Hospital. Jessie was born January 12th, 1938, in Clarksville, Tennessee to James H. Bell Sr. and George Ella Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. Bell Sr. and George Ella Bell, and her brothers James H. Bell Jr., Clarence E. Bell Sr., and John D. Bell Sr., and her son Archie Levi Stewart.
Jessie Mae leaves behind 5 children: daughter; George Ella (Rasor) Smith and husband James Smith, son, Stewart A. Rasor, son; Calvin L. Stewart and wife Terri Stewart, daughter; Emma L. Stewart, and son; Carlton L. Rasor. She also leaves in mourning, sister, Margaret L. Haggerty, sister, Patricia C. Neely and husband Travis Neely, a special friend Jack L. Gresham, a host of grandchildren (20), great grandchildren (7), nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Jessie Mae graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, TN, Class of 1957. She followed her family and moved to Terre Haute, Indiana in 1958. Once moving to Terre Haute, Jessie first attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. As her family grew, they became members of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. In her latter years of life, she joined Greater Victory Temple under Bishop Tino Smith. She enjoyed attending services with her daughter Candy and grandchildren. During her final years, she was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church under Bishop Glenn Purnell. Jessie loved being around her family and valued good music. She enjoyed the sounds of BB King, Luther Vandross, her church choir, and having conversations about the Lord. Jessie and her son Calvin were proud business owners of a vending machine company, “Stewart Vending.” She was later employed by the Vigo County School Corporation for several years, until retirement. During her retirement, she decided to volunteer for the afterschool program at the Charles T. Hyte Community Center for many years. She had a natural love for children and always made a point to look out for her family! Jessie Mae will be dearly missed by everyone!

A visitation for family and friends for Jessie will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Temple Church, 1432 South 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Jessie will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, 1601 Lockport Road, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
