Dr. Joe Turner Duncan, 89, of Terre Haute, died on Friday, June 4, 2021 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care after a short illness. Joe was born to James Earl and Ruth Scott Duncan in Linton, Indiana on August 11, 1931.
Joe was an Active Duty Army Information Specialist from 1953 - 1955. Joe was a graduate of Wiley High School and Indiana State University. Joe graduated from the University of Michigan with a PhD in 1961. Joe taught Radio/Television Broadcasting and Law at Indiana State University starting in 1956 until his retirement in 1997. Joe enjoyed teaching and mentoring his many students over the years.
Joe married Carol Ann (Lantz) Duncan in 1958. Joe is survived by Ann, son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Robin, grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas, brother-in-law, Jim Lantz and other relatives.
Joe was an avid golfer and road rallyer. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.
The family would like to thank all his great friends over the years and all of those who helped to improve his quality of life in the last few years, including Dr. Stockrahm's office.
