Joy Kathleen Washburn of Terre Haute passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday morning August 8, 2013. She was born in Terre Haute on September 22, 1927 to Ralph and Ruth Abbott.
Joy graduated from Garfield high School in 1945 and was voted Football Queen of her senior class. Joy was an accomplished artist. She loved reading and philosophy.
Joy is survived by 2 daughters Christi Ryan of Bloomington, IN, and Holly Washburn of Homewood, IL; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grand children.
Joy was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy.
