Katherine "Katie" Nelson

Katherine "Katie" Nelson, 94, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, January 09, 2015. She was born on August 10, 1920, in Terre Haute to the late Ora J. and Jennie (Beasley) Smith. She married Andrew W. Nelson on March 2, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1996. Katie was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard A. Smith.

Katie is survived by her brother, Lowell W. Smith (Judy), her son: Les Nelson (Vickie) of Crossville, TN and and her daughter Kayan Rogalski of Owensboro, KY: three grandchildren, Ken Nelson (Kate) of Denver, CO, Jeremy Nelson (Sarah) of Falmouth, KY, David Nelson (Bradie) of Owenton, KY, and Mindy Young of Owensboro,KY: four great-grandchildren; Matthew Young of Tacoma, WA, Aaron Young of Owensboro, KY, Kasen Nelson of Denver, CO, and Taylor True of Owenton, KY.

Katie was a past President of the Eagles Auxiliary 291 and a member of AARP.

Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Tuesday, January 13 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Rockhill officiating.
