

Larry was born to John Richard Davis and Jeanette Lucille (Hay) Davis Denny in Terre Haute in March of 1939. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force and also obtained his Masters Degree in education. Over the years he served as Principal for Blue River Valley and Cannelton, and taught industrial arts at Clinton and Lawrence High School. After retiring from education he went on to work at Crane working on board ships installing sonar from which he retired again. His wife, Virginia, and himself owned and ran a cab company. In his retirement he also drove a Greyhound bus out of Indianapolis.
Larry was a member of the Terre Haute Freemasons as well as the Rosedale American Legion for many years. He played horn as a member of the Zorah Shrine, and was a Monarch of the Grotto. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, fixing things, and spending time at his second home in Florida during the winter.
Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years Virginia (Jones) Davis, son Larry Davis Jr. (Robyn), daughter Jeannette Miller-Boyer (Craig), son Brett Davis, step-son Mark Miller (Lynda - deceased), step-daughter Marla Wyant (Mike), brother Fred Davis (Sue), half-sister Cheryl Backfish (Larry), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Richard Davis and Jeanette Lucille (Hay) Davis Denny, brother Jeffery Davis, half-brother Kennard Denny Jr., and half-sister Gloria Smith (Archie).
A visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral home on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 11AM to 1PM with services to follow.
