

Margaret Pearl Hagan, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 31, 1942, in Chicago, to Robert and Inez (Grayless) Strain. She married Albert Hagan on September 18, 1982.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Hagan; a daughter, Delores Wells; and brothers, Bob and Domenic Strain, and a son-in-law, Russ Kindred Sr.
She is survived by her children: Lorie Kindred of Terre Haute; Anita Fletcher and husband Robin of Terre Haute and John Alkire II and wife Tammy of West Terre Haute; grandchildren, David Lee Wells of Terre Haute, Mark Baker of Akron, OH, John Alkire III and fiancée Sien Vandevrzen of Clinton, Russell Kindred II of Terre Haute, Ricky Holland of Alabama, Richard Schell and fiancée Stephanie Smith of Terre Haute, and Brandy Ray and husband Jeremy of West Terre Haute; step-children, Jackie Hagan, Debbie Dwyer, and Jeri Hillhouse and their families; many great grandchildren whom she loved; sisters, Lois Jean Grier of West Hollywood, CA, Lillian Cottrell of Clinton; Victor Strain of Terre Haute, Jerry Strain of Terre Haute, and Virgil Strain of Annadale, VA; and her best friend, Connie Taylor of Terre Haute.
Margie retired from ISU after working as a cook for many years. She was a lifetime member and past President of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and was the past Vice President of the Eagles Grandmothers Club. She loved to play computer games and go to yard sales and thrift stores in her spare time. She was an excellent cook and loved to feed everybody (neighborhood cats, possums, and raccoons, included). She loved all animals and doted on her little dappled dachshund, Missy.
Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating.
