Obituary of Robert James Hansen
Robert James Hansen, 87, left this world and went home to walk those golden streets where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, Monday, August 3, 2020. He was born February 2, 1933 in Northern Michigan to Alfred and Lola Hansen. He came to Indiana as a teenager and began the life we all know now. Bob was a retired union carpenter and worked for Guarantee Roofing under employer and friend, Jack Ennis, who has also recently ended his journey. Bob loved to work with his hands, either in wood or cars, but what he loved most was spending time with his family and friends and watching his grandchildren play at Pappy's feet. His craftsmanship has touched countless homes in the Wabash Valley, but more so his love and good nature has touched countless hearts. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Hansen; his brothers, Arthur, Charlie, Bill, Frank, Marion, Lawrence; and his sister, Margaret. Leaving behind to finish their own journey is his son and daughter-in-law, Marty (Carol) Hansen; his grandchildren, Ryan Bailey, Kara (Joe) Bosworth; his two great-grandchildren, Lilo Beatrix, Allister Wells; and several nieces and nephews that all loved their Uncle Bob. Visitation will be at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 10:00am-1:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Perry Mager officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. "In my Father's house are many mansions, I go there now to prepare a place for you." Welcome home Robert, well done my good and faithful servant.
