

He was born on April 5, 1956, in Terre Haute, to George "Bob" Parker and Joan Groth Parker. They preceded him in death. Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert and Christopher Parker of Terre Haute; a sister, Rose Atkinson and husband Dale; brothers, Donnie, Jimmy, Ronnie, and George Parker, all of Terre Haute; a grandson, Gabriel Parker; eight nieces, eight nephews, many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews; and his life-long best friend, Ed Glaspie.
The love of Robert's life was cars - working on, repairing, and racing them. He was THE best mechanic back in his day. He attended every car show he could and took hundreds of pictures. His favorite car that he built for racing was a '65 Barracuda.
His family is planning a Celebration of Life on the weekend prior to his birthday in April 2022. Per his wishes, Robert was cremated and he will be laid to rest at a future date in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
