

Sammy was born to Samuel Plant Sr. and Ann (Susie) Williamson Slaven on August 01, 1978.
He attained the highest honor of becoming an Eagle Scout in October of 1994.
Upon his graduation from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 1996, Sam chose the career of farming because of his love for all things outdoors. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 841 and also an inactive member of the Otter Creek Volunteer Fire Department. His most cherished role was being a loving husband and adoring father, his children were the lights of his eyes. He attended the Friendly Grove Baptist Church and was a member of the American Angus Association and the American Simmental Association. Sam married the love of his life, Jamie Koch Plant on April 5, 2008.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, paternal grandfather Thomas Plant, and maternal grandmother Joyce Williamson.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie Koch Plant and his three children Katilynn, Thomas, and Jacob; parents Samuel Plant Sr. and Susie (Dallas) Slaven; sister Kelli Plant; paternal grandmother Irene Plant; maternal grandfather Ivan Williamson; parents in law James and Julia Koch; siblings in law, Jan Harrison (Mike Hughes), Chad (Rachelle) Koch and Joe Koch (Shelby Payne); nieces and nephews Logan and Abby Harrison, Wyatt, Hank, and Annie Koch; grandparents in law, Joe and Carolyn Wilson and Jim and Mary Koch. Step Family: Jared (Kay) Slaven and Shana (Dane) Miller, Sophie Miller, Rachel and Zachary Slaven, Cathy Short, Lindsay (Mike) Daley, Gregg Laughrey, Lorrie Fuller, Luke Laughrey and Hunter Daley and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many great friends.
Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m.. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to any First Financial Bank, Samuel R. Plant Jr Family Benefit Fund.
