Thelma Christine Capobianco
16 April, 1925 – 27 March, 2013
Thelma C. Capobianco, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 16, 1925, in Dugger, to Cecil and Julia (Russell) Butler. She married Cosmo John Capobianco on May 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY and together they raised three children, Catana Capobianco, Charles Stanley Capobianco, and Lisa Peek.
Thelma was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness for many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting, cooking, gardening, and learning history. Her family and her faith were important parts of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cosmo, and her brother, Norman Butler.
She is survived by her children, sisters, Hazel Butler, Edna (Sant) Johnson, and her sister-in-law, Sarah Butler all of Lebanon, Ohio. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 31 at Thomas Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Brother Jerry Boyll officiating. Burial will follow on Monday at Second Prairie Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.thomasfuneralhome.net.
