

Vera Bell Adams, 90, of Terre Haute, Indiana, died at 7:02 AM on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was born May 1, 1930 in Parke County, Indiana, to Ernest G. Bell and Anna Thomas. She married James E. Adams on July 26, 1950 and they were married until his death in May of 1999.
Survivors include three children: daughter, Becky Adams Davidson of Terre Haute, and two sons, Eddy J. Adams (Susan) of Terre Haute and Kent A. Adams (Donna) of Murphy, Texas; five grandchildren, Josh Fritz (Anastasia) of Winona Lake, Indiana, Lauren Davidson of Terre Haute, Indiana, Courtney Davidson (Jenni) of Melbourne, Australia, Cara Adams of Carmel, Indiana, and Kailey Adams of Murphy, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Madilyn Fritz, Caden Craffets, and Gracie Fritz; one sister-in-law Rosemary Hamilton (Charles) of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Chester Bell, Earl Bell, and Orris Guy Bell; and two sisters, Nila Ellington and Alta Mae Smith.
She dedicated her life to her family but also worked at Covered Bridge Special Education District and Vigo County School Corp.
She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Terre Haute where she dedicated much of her life teaching women's Bible study classes and supporting many other church activities and needs.
She was a 47-year breast cancer survivor.
She was a longtime member of Spring Creek Home Economics Club, a lifetime member of Indiana Farm Bureau and was active in Rural Youth in her early years.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some of her most cherished times were cooking for her family during the holidays, family campouts, gardening, singing and listening to music. She and her husband enjoyed several trips together before his passing in 1999.
Her zest for life, strength, and courage will live on through her children and grandchildren.
Outside services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, November 6, directly across from Roselawn Funeral Home in Roselawn Memorial Park. Services will be conducted by John Edwards. The family requests that you wear a mask when attending the service.
