Iva Lee Craven

Iva Craven, of Terrell, passed away Aug. 3, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. Iva was born Aug. 11, 1930 in Ida, Louisiana to Robert Fulton and Flona May (Steelman) Holcomb, both of whom preceded her in death along with her brothers: Robert, Preston, and Ray Holcomb and sisters: Mary Davis and Marie Trammell. Iva met Thomas Eartis Craven and they married on June 17, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to their children. She worked for, and retired from, Vistawall in Terrell after many years of dedicated service. Iva also attended the Pentecostal church in Greenville and frequently visited Emmanuel Baptist Church with her family. She truly enjoyed her family and they all have many fond memories. The grandkids often enjoyed watching old movies and westerns with her. Iva relaxed by working in her flower beds with her beloved roses and other flowers that she cared for and cultivated. She took every opportunity to go fishing with her grandchildren at the lake or the family stock ponds. A cherished and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Iva will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves to continue her legacy, her husband, Thomas E. Craven of Terrell; sons: Tommy Craven and wife, Theresa, of Terrell, Jimmy Craven of Terrell, and Billy Craven and wife, Abbie, of Terrell; daughter, Patricia Martinson and husband David of Quinlan; grandchildren: Thomas, William, James, Robert, Jammie, Candace McCoy, Brandon, Casey, Daniel Hoover, and Sarah Hoover; 36 great grandchildren: sister, Betty Lou Shaw of Terrell; brother, Glenn Holcomb of Greenville as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, Rita Sue Craven and Jackie Beasley, and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment to follow at Campground Cemetery.
