Evelyn Janell Reed

Evelyn was born on August 29, 1945 in Pine Bluff, AR. She married her high school sweetheart on August 28, 1965, and they spent 53 wonderful years together. In adulthood she lived in many places, including North Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, Connecticut, and Texas. The joy of her life was her family and she was never happier than when they were all together. Evelyn was incredibly friendly and never met a stranger. She was often seen in meaningful conversations with whoever was nearby: a repair person, a neighbor, or a fellow shopper. Evelyn also enjoyed church activities and needlework.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Janie Swilling; and her husband, Walter Reed. She is survived by her children; April Kriz (John), Alan Reed (Ashley), and Leland Reed (Jennifer), 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held on April 11 at 10am at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6707 Dollorway Rd, White Hall, AR 71602, under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Remote Island Ministries, a mission organization they have faithfully supported for many years. This ministry, led by Missionary Glen Knight, is part of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood, AR.
