

Jack Gleason passed away on Monday, January 5th at a local hospital. Jack was born on April 24 1928 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He moved to Texarkana, Arkansas at age 14. He is preceded in death by his son, Jay Gleason.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lessie Gleason of Texarkana, Arkansas, his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Michael Davis of Texarkana, Texas, one sister, Janann Gleason of Texarkana, Arkansas, and two grandchildren, Tommy Dixon of Texarkana, Arkansas and Ashley Dixon of Little Rock, Arkansas.
He graduated from Arkansas High School in 1946 and attended Ouachita Baptist College as an all star football player as well as attending the University of Arkansas. He had a passion for athletics including golf, tennis, snow skiing and water sports. He adored his family and cherished his many friends. He was the owner and manager of the Union Supply Grocery for 55 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Texarkana, Arkansas.
There will be a private family burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. The memorial services by East Funeral Home - Downtown will be held at First United Methodist Church, 400 East 6th Street, Texarkana, Arkansas on Thursday, January 8th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Visitation will follow in the Cabe Center. Memorials can be made to First United methodist Church or charity of your choice.The family will be at 2016 Beech Street, Texarkana, Arkansas 71854.
