JoAnn Lorance

JoAnn Lockhart Lorance, 80, of Texarkana, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday May 25, 2024. JoAnn was born December 1, 1943, in Alexandria, Virginia to John Rogers Lockhart and Hilda Lea Lockhart. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas for over 50 years. She retired from Red River Army Depot where she worked for over 32 years as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic. After retiring she volunteered at the Texarkana Friendship Center. JoAnn loved serving the Lord Jesus Christ throughout her life and was a faithful servant. She also loved gardening and planted flowers in the hearts of all those who knew her that will continue to bloom forever.

JoAnn had a deep love and devotion for Christ and family. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jerry Glenn Lorance of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Nancy Yocom of Texarkana, Arkansas; one son and daughter in law, Jerry Glenn Lorance II and Carolyn Lorance of New Boston, Texas; one daughter and son in law, Kathy Lorance Johnson and Robert Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas; Three grandchildren; Brittney Sue Phillips and husband Curtis Phillips of Texarkana, Texas, Gary Lorance and wife Taryn Lorance of New Waverly, Texas, and Christopher Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas; Two great-grandsons; Tyson and Waylon Lorance; and great-granddaughters Anzligh and Maelee Phillips.

Visitation will be at East Funeral Home on Moores Lane in Texarkana, Texas from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, May 31st with services being held on Saturday, June 1st at 10:00am at East Memorial Chapel-Moores Lane with Pastor Bryan Bixler officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
