

Linda was born on February 3, 1950 in Texarkana, Texas to Kenneth and Clara McClemens.
Linda was a member of the first class to graduate from Texas High School at its present site in 1968. She received her BS degree in education from ETSU in Commerce, Texas and her MEd from ETSU in Texarkana, Texas.
She taught for TISD, Ashdown Public Schools and retired from the Department of Defense Education Agency in 2009. She had the privilege of teaching on the military bases in Korea, Turkey, Okinawa, and Germany. She enjoyed traveling while living in Asia and Europe.
Upon her return to the Texarkana area, Linda joined Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church where she was in the choir, Service Class, Bible Study group, Walker Women’s group and served on various committees. She relished her Monday night Reunion group. She was a member of Friends of the Library, lifetime member of Texas PTA, TRAHC, Women for the Arts and Tex Rep.
As long as she was able, she shared her time with Hospice of Texarkana, Residents Encounter Christ at the Telford Unit. She was an avid reader, loved to knit prayer shawls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Clara McClemens and her sister, Barbara McClemens Nelson. Two uncles, Charles Williams and Cedric Williams and one aunt Jo Williams.
She leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law Kennessa and Kenneth Pratt, Sr.; two nephews Kenneth “George” Pratt, Jr. and Kenneth Nelson and his wife Celia and their two daughters; two nieces Kristina Nelson and her son and daughter; and Katherine Pratt Greer and her husband Daniel; and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 21st. 11am to 1:00 pm at Sugar Hill Church 1621 Sugar Hill Road, Texarkana, Ar.
