Mary Edith Grant

Mary Edith Grant, 83, of Texarkana, AR passed away August 18, 2011 in a local hospital. Mrs. Grant was born December 28, 1927 in Prescott, AR. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Texarkana, AR. She was a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Women's Circle; and a Hospice Volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Grant; and her sister, Katherine Cavanah.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Mack Freeman of Texarkana, TX and Cecile and Willie Vanzandt of Texarkana, TX; brother, Dr. James Atkinson of Magnolia, AR; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Stacy Ann and David Pewitt of Dallas, TX and Casey and Brandon Rampy of Texarkana, TX; grandson, Brad Vanzandt of Texarkana, TX; and 3 great grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, Texarkana, AR with Revs. John and Susan Arnold officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at the funeral home.
